I was thinking about using rsync as well but after some testing came to a conclusion that the effort is not generally worth it.

And yes, IDEA is great but unfortunately often quite heavy on the resources, even on the top workstations. That’s why lately I’m using another IDE if I don’t need IDEA’s heavyweight features and doing some non-Java/Kotlin stuff.
